Sounds a like McDonalds conspiracy to get your dogs hooked on their product. Why might I ask would you ever put sugar in a dog treat. There is only one answer. It’s just what they want it to be very addictive.

Deb: You are right, the information you provided is much more detailed than other ordinary website reviews out there about pet insurance. That’s why I thought it was good to feature on my blog to share with our visitors, too. It is always useful to compare companies. I look forward to additional posts to the series. I find your insight very valuable!!

Hey, thanks for bringing up that issue about the Admitted Carrier vs Surpluss Lines. I didn’t address that at all – I’ve been learning as I go along with each post, so I’ll definitely look into that more. I do hope that anyone who reads my posts points out any glaring holes or errors! I have tried my best to be accurate and complete, but I’m not going to claim expertise.

I’ll probably be adding to the series of posts soon, time permitting. I have a page (on my main page, just under “about”) where I have collected the links to the posts I have done so far, and I’ll edit that page when I do more posts about pet insurance, so it will be easy to find.

I’ve been lucky enough to have had someone (Mo) with a great deal of personal experience in researching and dealing with various pet insurance companies find the series of posts and provide a lot of really helpful information! It was a lot more helpful than the meager reviews I was able to find online.

I worked at a Vet clinic for 10 years and our groomers and bathers swore by Skunk Off. It was the only product recommended and used, and we always carried it at the clinic when clients called with a “skunk” problem. It may take a few baths, but it is the best product out there that I know of.

It appears that if the product states that it should be kept away from pets most likely it would not be safe in a garden with pets. Does anyone know or perhaps we should ask the manufacturer? But from your post it appears that cottonmouths could line up around the pool cage laughing while copperheads would slither away to look for another house without the Snake -A-Way. What about pygmy rattlesnakes? I think some research or comments would be helpful

OOOHH YES, I HAVE, INFACT, HAD TO CLEAN UP THE MESS OF A SKUNK ENCOUNTER – ON A GREAT DANE – AT 5 IN THE MORNING AND TO MAKE IT WORSE, IT WAS FEBRUARY IN OHIO – SHALL I SAY COLD!!!!! HAD TO DO IT OUTSIDE AS SHE HAD ALREADY RUN INTO THE HOUSE BEFORE I REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED. I HAVE NOT TRIED SKUNK OFF BUT DID USE THE STANDARD HOME REMEDY OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, DAWN DISH LIQUID AND WARM WATER. NOTHING GIVES INSTANT RELIEF. MY GROOMER SAID IT JUST TAKES TIME. AS THE “SPRAY” IS OIL BASED, IT DOES NOT “MIX” WELL WITH ANY WATER PRODUCT. AND SHE ALSO MADE THE COMMENT YOU GET THE ODOR IN YOUR NOSE AND THAT MAKES IT HARD TO TELL IF IT IS GONE FROM THE DOG OR STILL IN YOU NOSTRILS!!!! GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT IT WILL GET BETTER.

We give them a big 5!!! Very addictive and ALL the dogs love them.
